Improve Your Traffic Flow

For any site, the heart of its success is traffic flow, but there is more to it than that. Its actually
"converting" traffic flow.

Anyone can get untargeted and unfocused traffic, you can buy it by the boat load for $20 per 10,000. But its useless, and people seem to not get that at all. Give me 10 people a day who are standing by with credit card in hand, rather than 10,000 exit pops or similar.

Coverting traffic is everything, and traffic flow around the site is important too. Imagine for a second that you have never been to your site; how easy is it to get around? Is the buy button prominent or whatever the action you want your visitors to take? Can they visit all pages without too many clicks? Is it pleasing to the eye? And so much more.

What would be even better would be to get a friend who is fairly new to the internet , and has never seen your site before; get them to move through the site and make notes. Then rate their user experience, and make changes accordingly.

Simple really, but not many people do it, and so many more go for complex flash sites, rather than simple functional and attractive sites. Forget the flash, make the user happy, and make them do what you got them there for in the first place.

A site is a window on what you do, and how you do it; get this wrong, and people will pass by your window without going in the front door, and more than likely visit your neighbour.

Don't let this happen.
